Valentino Rossi, 2009 MotoGP World Champion
Sepang - Valentino Rossi is sure to become a world champion MotoGP season one series remaining. But that does not mean that Rossi to be the best the easy way.
Finish in third position in the Malaysian MotoGP on Sunday (25/10/2009), was enough for Rossi to win the title of world champion motogp seventh in the primary classroom and the ninth in all classes.
"It's a tough year. Racing reflects what happens during this season. Very heavy, with a few mistakes and some disappointing results," said Rossi told Mediaset who told Reuters.
"But I won six races. I perform consistently and I am a champion of the world," said Rossi who won this year's Spanish GP, Catalunya, Netherlands, Germany, the Czech and San Marino.
Rossi became world champion by stopping the fight his team mate, Jorge Lorenzo. In the standings, Rossi has put together the numbers 286, while the new Lorenzo 245, with one series left.
"For me, this is the ninth world title and seventh in the MotoGP, so I must thank everyone at Yamaha, especially in my garage that has helped me achieve this great accomplishment," added Rossi.
